A FICTIONAL CLIENT PROJECT
Same foundation.
Your client’s shop.
Try the brief in a copy of the extracted kit. Keep preview mode enabled. No real booking, inquiry or publication is part of this exercise.
The client: Northline Barber
A fictional shop in Lakewood. Area: Lakewood · By appointment. Hours: Wednesday–Sunday, 10am–5pm Mountain Time. Descriptor: Barber shop.
Headline: Your cut. Your kind of day. Introduction: A haircut that starts with a conversation. Bring your usual or an idea for something new, and we’ll agree the details before we begin.
Keep the services in order. Rename them The everyday cut, Beard shaping and Cut plus beard. Use the corresponding homepage labels A fresh cut, Shape the beard and Make it both.
Use these fictional exercise prices in USD: 42.50, leave blank, and 60. They are test inputs, not pricing recommendations. Keep the example scope for practice, marking actual client approval as outstanding.
Route: existing booking tool, “Check availability.” Use https://example.com/barber-booking as a placeholder only. Leave phone empty and texts off. Keep the shop illustration and disclosure.
Save it, then check the whole menu.
- Enter the brief in guided setup and download
site-config.jsbefore leaving. - Replace that exact file inside your working copy’s
websitefolder. Keep the original package as a backup. - Refresh the homepage and services page. Expect Northline Barber, Lakewood and the new headline.
- Choose each homepage service. Expect the new label and service name, with From $42.50, Request an estimate and From $60.00 respectively. The service menu may omit zero cents while showing the same numeric price.
- Follow each service link and confirm it opens the matching section. Check that all three service-menu prices match the chooser.
- Reopen the saved export in setup. Review Northline Barber, apply it and confirm the decimal price, blank price and all custom names/labels remain.
- Confirm real booking, call and text actions stay disabled. The placeholder route is not an actual client booking page.
- Review remaining fixed copy and metadata. Do not invent reviews, barber credentials or before/after results.
Hand over an honest draft.
Open the client handoff builder in the documents folder. Record Northline Barber and the placeholder booking route. Leave actual delivery proof, account access, device checks and commercial-use approval incomplete.
Record remaining work: actual approved prices and scope, booking destination, appointment policies, domain/hosting ownership, authorized shop imagery, support and commercial terms. Download a draft.
This is a customization exercise, not independent buyer acceptance or proof of demand.
Return to the handoff later
In the kit’s client handoff builder, record the fictional business and leave unperformed checks unticked. Choose Save editable draft. In a fresh copy of the same handoff builder, select that .json file, review the project name and choose Use this draft. Confirm your notes and incomplete checks return, then make one change and save a new draft.
Keep this editable draft for your own project work. Use Download handoff document for the readable document. Both are local downloads; neither contacts the client or approves a launch.
