From first look to handoff

A clear path through.

For builders comfortable editing HTML and CSS. No framework installation is required.

  1. 01 / GET YOUR BEARINGS

    Start with a brief.

Use fictional details while evaluating, or gather the business’s verified content in the workbook.

    Open the content workbook ↗
  2. 02 / MAKE IT THEIRS

    Prepare the settings.

Enter the business, services, image information and inquiry destination. Review the full summary, then download settings.

    Open guided setup ↗
  3. 03 / CHECK THE ACTUAL SITE

    Install, then review.

Replace website/site-config.js in your working copy. Open both pages and review the content, image crop and remaining fixed copy.

    Review the service page ↗
  4. 04 / CLOSE THE LOOP

    Prepare a clear handoff.

Record ownership, inquiry routing and unfinished work. Save the editable draft separately from the client document.

    Open the handoff builder ↗

Website settings

website/site-config.js

Public website content. Replace it in the working website folder. Image files stay separately in website/assets/.

Editable project draft

sunday-client-handoff-draft.json

Your reopenable handoff work. Keep it with project documents, outside the public website folder.

Client handoff document

website-client-handoff.md

The readable record for client review. It cannot reopen the handoff editor and is not publication approval.

Only the website/ folder contains the site files. Keep this welcome page, guides, drafts and client documents with your working files. Never put passwords or private access details in the public settings.

Keep moving when something stalls.

My edits do not appear on the website.

Download the latest settings. If your browser adds a number, rename the file from site-config (1).js to exactly site-config.js when replacing it inside the working website/ folder, beside index.html. Refresh both pages. Editing the form does not change the website automatically.

A download cannot start.

Keep the form open and retry. Setup offers “Show settings text”; handoff offers document-text selection and an editable-draft text backup. Save the complete text in a plain-text editor with the displayed filename and no added .txt extension. Reopen an editable file to verify it.

I am ready to show the client.

Review the actual content and both pages, record only checks you performed, and explain remaining work. Keep evaluation contact actions disabled. Client acceptance and applicable commercial-use permission are separate requirements.
